How it Works
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about telemedicine
When you can’t reach us, we will reach out to you.
In real life, if you are feeling sick, out of town & ran out of your medication, running late from work are some of the circumstances which causes delay in seeking healthcare. In such circumstances, virtual visit with your physician can be very helpful.
- More convenient, accessible care for patients
- Saves on Health care cost, in general
- Increasing patient engagement
For the conditions listed below
For serious conditions, patients need an ER visit. But most conditions aren’t serious. Even in borderline cases, it can take weeks to get an office appointment. Meanwhile, a nonurgent condition can become urgent. A timely virtual visit with a doctor can identify who needs hands-on care right way and who can benefit from remote treatment without having to leave home. If medication is needed, an e-script can be sent to the patient’s pharmacy.
With new high deductible, large out of pocket insurance plans, telemedicine reimbursement is unreliable, especially with the constantly changing state policies.
At Denton Family Practice Clinic, patients directly pay a service fee to the Clinic. We encourage our patients to call their insurance and find out the virtual visit coverages under their plan.
